Creating An Imprint Item

If base stock needs to be released, variable print items on Q-Net are set up as Imprint Items in e-Quantum. For example, this option would be used if you owned and inventoried card stock that was released to the printer for business card orders.

NOTE: An imprint item is a non-stock item in Item Maintenance. This item is associated with a stock item. When the imprint item is ordered, e-Quantum will automatically reduce the inventory of the base stock item and create an Imprint Release for your warehouse. The Imprint Release can be printed from your purchase order.

To create an imprint item in e-Quantum:

Step 1: Check Combine base & imprint when invoicing

Step 2: Click Imprint Information to open the Edit Imprint Information Window.

Step 3: Enter the information in the following table.

Field

Description

Related Client

This can be the Distributor Client, Corporate Client or the actual Client, depending on where the inventory is pulled from.

Item

Would be the 'base stock' for the imprint. For example, the Item would be the card stock for business cards.

Unit

Defaults from the Issue Unit in Item Maintenance. Set the Issue Unit equal to the amount of the item it will take to use one unit of the base stock. For example, for business cards that are set 10 up, set the base stock issue unit to be Sheet/10. (You can get 10 'eaches' of the business card per Sheet of card stock.)

Qty to Release

Enter the amount of inventory to release, calculated using the Unit from above.

Add'l Qty

Using the example above, the Qty to Release would be 0.10. (You would use 1/10th of a sheet of card stock for each business card.)

Percentage

e-Quantum will calculate the additional quantity to release based on the Percent entered in this field. For example, if you are releasing a quantity of 100, and enter 5%, e-Quantum will release an additional quantity of 5. If you are releasing a quantity of 1,000, and enter 5%, e-Quantum will release an additional quantity of 50.

Quantity

e-Quantum will release the amount entered in this field regardless of the size of the job. For example, if you are releasing a quantity of 100, and enter 5, e-Quantum will release an additional quantity of 5. If you are releasing a quantity of 1,000, and enter 5, e-Quantum will still release an additional quantity of 5.
